The Life and Witness Of

MORGAN DAVIS

Morgan Davis is a vocational missionary, writer, and missiological practitioner whose work engages Christian witness at the intersection of Scripture engagement and the Muslim world.

Her ministry has been shaped by years of walking alongside believers across the Sahel, Southeast Asia, and other global contexts, with a particular focus on church-led Bible translation, theological formation, and equipping leaders for steadfast contextual witness. She is committed to strengthening the local church and supporting ministry that is sustainable, communal, and rooted in Scripture.

In every season, Morgan seeks to bear witness not through volume or visibility, but through presence and long obedience; trusting the Spirit who sends the Church and sustains her work until Christ is known among all people groups in every nation.

Equipping Servant to the Global Church

Morgan's passion for making the Lord Jesus known burns brightest at the intersection of Gospel proclamation and Bible translation, especially among the Muslim world.

"I have but one candle of life to burn, and I would rather burn it out in a land filled with darkness than in a land flooded with light."

—Ion Grant Neville Keith-Falconer,
Missionary & Arabic Scholar

If you were sitting across from each other sharing coffee, Morgan would want you to know that her heart beats for Jesus and His mission. Every part of who she is flows from living Coram Deo, before the face of God, and for His glory alone.

In bearing witness, Morgan’s life echoes the testimony of Psalm 103:3-5, where God “redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.” Having experienced the depth of His redemption firsthand, she clings to the truth of Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” This isn’t just her life verse, it’s the rhythm of her daily walk.

Each aspect of Morgan’s journey stems from this profound reality: her old self is gone, and now Christ lives through her. Her deepest desire is for others to experience this same transformative love of God revealed in the face of Christ, a love that rescues, restores, and renews completely.

What began as holy disruption gradually became holy formation. As Morgan continued to walk with believers across cultures and contexts, her early passion was shaped by theological study, lived experience, and the wisdom of the global Church. She learned that faithful witness requires not only zeal, but depth; not only urgency, but endurance.

Out of this formation, Morgan blends her academic formation with hands-on ministry experience. She has presented research at both the National Evangelical Missiological Society (2022, 2025) and the Missio Nexus National Missions Leaders Conference (2024), with a focus on mobilizing African American and other ethnic minority communities in global missions and amplifying the agency and scholarship of the Majority World.

At times, Morgan’s witness has found expression through writing, teaching, and public conversation within the broader mission community. She has been featured on the Gospel Mobilization podcast and has contributed writing to From Every Nation’s Mission Journal and Radical.net, engaging questions of Christian witness, mission, and faithfulness in a global context.

Her theological formation includes studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Lancaster Bible College, and she is currently pursuing an MDiv in Muslim–Christian Relations at Columbia International University’s Seminary. In recognition of her contributions to missiology, Washington International Theological Seminary in Kenya conferred upon her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

Morgan has also served the local church through various leadership roles. For five years, she served as Director of Missions at her previous church, where she nurtured a mission-minded community, equipped members for cross-cultural engagement, and cultivated partnerships with ministries around the world. She currently serves as President of the Maryland–Delaware Woman’s Missionary Union, supporting churches and leaders across the region in living missionally.

In addition, Morgan serves on the Baptist Convention of Maryland and Delaware’s Women’s Leadership Team and participates in collaborative efforts through the Evangelical Missiological Society, and the National African American Missions Council. She also contributes to the Multi-Faith Neighbors Network, where she works alongside Christian, Muslim, and Jewish leaders on initiatives related to religious freedom.

Ask Morgan what matters most in her life, and she will tell you without hesitation: being the daughter of the Most High God, Chris’s wife, and mom to their three adult children. She is a California native now residing on the East Coast. Before surrendering her life to the Lord, Morgan served as a United States Marine, an experience that shaped her discipline and resolve, but not her identity.

When she is not immersed in ministry or study, Morgan finds joy in lifting weights, running, spending time near the ocean, thrift-shopping with Chris, getting lost in 1940s jazz, or enjoying a bowl of butter pecan ice cream.

Every role Morgan holds, disciple, missionary, wife, mother, writer, and researcher is unified by her love for Jesus Christ and her gratitude for participating in His Great Commission. She shares God’s heart expressed in 2 Peter 3:9, desiring that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

In the end, Morgan’s story is not ultimately about her at all. It is about covenant God of Scripture who continues to write His story of redemption through the ordinary lives of those who follow Him. In every conversation, on every platform, and across every border, she seeks to bear witness to this unchanging truth: the light of Christ shines brightest when His people live obediently and boldly for Him, even, and especially, in the darkest places.
