Every day without access to Scripture in their heart language leaves communities spiritually undernourished.
This makes the mission to translate God’s Word not just important, but urgently necessary for spiritual flourishing worldwide. With unfoldingWord, Morgan serves as a Church-Centric Theological Formation Equipper, to support Bible translation efforts through established church networks abroad.
As part of her role, Morgan fulfills two primary capacities: Content Development & Training and Story Gathering & Documentation. Her dedication to equipping church leaders through training and oral exegetical script creation is integral to unfoldingWord’s vision of multiplying disciples of Jesus and planting sustainable churches among unreached people groups globally.
Morgan is currently assigned to translation projects across the Sahel region of Africa, Indonesia, and Papua.
DEVELOPMENT
Morgan travels extensively to her assigned contexts and participates in ongoing translation training workshops each year. These workshops focus on both oral and written translation processes. When she is working remotely, Morgan creates theologically formative oral exegetical scripts for the FIA Project to aid in quality drafting. Morgan also collaborates with unfoldingWord partner translation organizations from various countries to provide ongoing support for translation efforts and to establish sustainable training capabilities within these networks. Morgan is also seconded to SRV Partners garnering expertise in Oral Bible Translation processes, providing training for people groups that are predominantly oral learners.
DOCUMENTATION
As a Story Gatherer, Morgan immerses herself in the vibrant community of translation teams on the field. With a keen eye and compassionate approach, she documents their journeys through thoughtful photography and insightful interviews, capturing both the challenges and breakthroughs that define their work. These stories and images provide the uW Communications team with authentic content that meaningfully connects benefactors and stakeholders to the mission. Through consistent presence and intentional relationship building, Morgan establishes the trust necessary to respectfully share how God's Word is transforming lives and communities across diverse cultural contexts.
